Music that transcends culture and time with a new Rock edge has a name: JANO. Jano formed in 2011 with the mission to transform traditional African music and to shape the future of rock ‘n roll. Born and raised in Ethiopia, the band’s ten members share a musical passion with them since early childhood days. In January 2012, JANO completed their first full LP titled, ERTALE, written in the Ethiopian language of Amharic. Their soulful music focuses on the topics of love, adventure, loss and the journeys we all take through life, played with the African rhythm of their youth as the backdrop to a new, vibrant rock sound. 

Rocking the music industry at home in Africa and abroad, JANO’s music has been heralded as “totally new” with “exceptional vocals and production quality.”

JANO is produced by the team who brought Ziggy Marley & the Melody Makers over 15 years of musical success, including five Grammy’s and American Music awards, lead by Addis Gessesse and now Rock the World Music.
